At the crossroads between the Vipava and Soča valleys, on the border between Slovenia and Italy, lies the young town of Nova Gorica. The guide will take you through the story of life along the border, which writes the temperament of the local population.
We will start the day with one foot in Slovenia and the other in Italy, on the European Square, which represents the bond of friendship between Nova Gorica and Gorizia.
On the hill that reigns in the city, we will get to know the history of the surroundings through a guided tour of the monastery. We will enter the tomb of the last French kings- the Bourbons and the local treasury of words - the monastery library.
We will walk through the center of Nova Gorica to experience the fusion of socialist architecture with modern urban design. Maybe a scoop of the best ice cream in town?
Experience the local cousine in the restaurat.
We will paddle under the Solkan Bridge - the pride of the people of Solkan, as it stretches over the Soča River as a technological monument with the largest stone railway arch in the world.
